The clashes came as Israel and Hamas militants agreed to a cease-fire, which took effect at 2 a.m. local time Friday. At least 240 Palestinians were killed in the recent conflict that lasted 11- days. Another 1,620 people have been wounded, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.

A few blocks away, a man was beaten and kicked on the ground, before a mob of people fled the scene to avoid police.

Officers say two commercial fireworks were thrown from a car near Midtown injuring a woman.

An arson investigation is being led by Midtown North as a hate crime.
