Our 4th of July Picks for 2021

With COVID-19 restrictions easing, many communities are bringing back Independence Day celebrations with fireworks. Here are our July 4th picks for fireworks shows and other Independence Day activities, from local celebrations, to the Macy’s waterfront extravaganzas, to our shoreline displays.

MACY’S 4TH OF JULY FIREWORKS


Macy's 4th of July Fireworks are back this year, after a modified edition last summer. The fireworks show returns on July 4th at 9:25 p.m. over the East River.


The fireworks show will be visible from Brooklyn Bridge Park this year.

RIDGEFIELD PARK

The Village with be celebrating the 4th on the 5th!


Ridgefield park is celebrating their 127 July 4th parade this year!!


Starts At: Preston St. and Hudson Ave., Ridgefield Park, NJ


This parade is the oldest, longest and deepest tradition in our nation. And according to their website, this is “the Only Place to be on July 4th... "


Some other July 4th events that residents can take part in are as follows:

  • Registration for the home and business July 4th decorating deadline is this Friday by 6pm.

  • Registration for the youth and baby parade deadline is this Saturday.


Governor Murphy and First Lady Tammy Murphy are scheduled to March in the Ridgefield Park Fourth of July Parade on July 5.

STATE FAIR MEADOWLANDS

East Rutherford

Saturday, July 3 and Sunday, July 4

The State Fair Meadowlands returns for 24 days with more than 150 rides and attractions, including Jurassic Kingdom, plus plenty of food and free entertainment on two stages.




JERSEY CITY'S 50 STAR FIREWORKS SHOW

Join the Fourth of July celebrations in Jersey City at Liberty State Park at the Jersey City Freedom & Fireworks Festival.


If you want the most patriotic setting to enjoy Independence Day look no further – with the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island as the backdrop, this is sure to be an amazing day/evening to remember for years to come.


EDGEWATER INDEPENDENCE DAY FIREWORKS - CANCELED



LAKE HOPATCONG FIREWORKS

Sunday, Jul 4, 2021

9:00pm ET

Location:Lake Hopatcong Golf Club

This annual fireworks spectacular, which sends sparklers flying high above the lake from floating docks.


Rain date July 10.



ENGLEWOOD JULY 4TH CELEBRATIONS AND FIREWORKS - NEW DATE TO FOLLOW!

UPDATE: FIREWORKS POSTPONED FOR A SECOND TIME!!!

Due to the heat wave and chance of thunderstorms, Englewood administration has canceled the fireworks. New date to follow.



PARAMUS 4TH OF JULY FIREWORKS & FOOD TRUCK FESTIVAL

Sunday, July 4

2 PM EDT – 8:30 PM EDT

This year, the Paramus 4th of July Committee is teamed up with Just Jersey Fest. If you want to celebrate the Fourth of July with 20 gourmet Food Trucks, a wide range of alcohol, vendors, music and kids activities, then this may be for you.

EAST BRUNSWICK JULY 4TH CELEBRATION

Sunday, Jul 4, 2021

9:30pm ET

Location:Community Arts Center

Kick back and enjoy this fireworks display, visible from Dideriksen Park, Heavenly Farms Park, and the Middlesex County Fairgrounds.


Pack your favorite snacks and drinks and head to your favorite spot for this fun community celebration.



OCEAN CITY FOURTH OF JULY CELEBRATION

Sunday, July 4, 2021

Ocean City’s Independence Day festivities include a Bike Parade at 10am, kite flying competition at 7pm, and entertainment next to Music Pier at 7:30pm leading up to a spectacular fireworks display over the boardwalk at 9pm.
