NEWARK (NJ) — The People's Organization For Progress (POP) will hold a march and rally on Monday, July 12 to commemorate the 54th anniversary of the 1967 Newark Rebellion.
According to a news release from the group, the rally will start at 5 p.m. at 250 Springfield Avenue in Newark, located between Hayes Street and Irvine Turner Blvd.
Speakers will include family members of those who were killed and residents of Newark at that time, as well as community leaders and activists. (Click here to learn more about this event)
"This is an annual POP event and has been held almost every year since the group was founded in 1982. The event is free and open to the public. All are invited.” Organizers wrote.
